Best Methods To Improve your Lifestyle and Stay POSITIVE in 2021

How to Improve Your Lifestyle and Stay Positive?

These are some methods with which you can improve your lifestyle. If you are applying less than 5 one of these methods then your life is not going well you should check this out.

Good night’s sleep

If you can’t sleep, get up and do something different

It’s normal to wake up during the night, but most people just fall straight back to sleep without realising it.

If you can’t get back to sleep easily, or if you struggle to nod off in the first place, don’t just lie there. Get up and do something else. It’s important to associate bed with sleep and not with being mentally awake.

Stick to consistent bedtimes and waking times – yes, even at the weekend!

Stick to a routine with a consistent bedtime and waking time. Your body needs to know what it should be doing and when it should be doing it.

This is important for all of us, including babies and young children. If the evening always goes ‘story, bath, bed’, then they know what to expect.

Don’t nag teens for being lazy, their body clocks are different from adults’

Adolescents aren’t being lazy. They’re doing exactly what their biology is requesting of them – staying awake and getting up later. It’s a real shame that schools demand such an early start time.

During lockdown and the summer holidays, many teenagers were able to revert to their natural sleep pattern, so it prompts the question, is it time for a change?

Survive a hangover

Some of us may be destined to get bad hangovers, thanks to genetics

The severity depends on lots of things, including your weight and what you’ve eaten that day. Genetics also plays an important role.

It might be boring, but the only way to avoid a hangover is to drink in moderation

Drink in moderation. That’s the only way. Eating a fatty meal before you go out drinking might also help because it can slow down the absorption of alcohol into the bloodstream.

Stay away from the hair of the dog

Hair of the dog prolongs the inevitable. It’s not a good idea to treat a hangover with more booze.

Fry-ups might aid with metabolising alcohol. Eggs and bacon contain an amino acid called cysteine, which helps to break down the acetylaldehyde that is produced.

There’s no evidence that exercise can help a hangover. What might happen is that you become more dehydrated, which could make you feel even worse.

Go for A Walk

Walking has saved my life this summer. An afternoon stroll through the park is a great way to clear your head, reduce stress, and get a tiny bit of physical activity in. Just being outside for a few minutes, breathing the fresh air, is enough to make you feel rejuvenated.

Most people have a small park near there homes, but even if you don’t, a short walk around the block will work as well. Getting outside for even a few minutes each day will greatly improve your life.

Take a Break from Social Media

Social media can be extremely toxic. Facebook is by far the worst offender for me. It’s difficult to believe that people I know in real life can be so hateful and anti-science. It’s depressing and sometimes makes me irrationally angry. Turning it off has worked wonders for my mental well-being.

But it’s not just Facebook, and it’s not only the stuff that makes you angry that you have to look out for. Social media can lead to depression. It can be horrible for your mental wellness to see glamourous shots of people in exotic locales, photos of pristine homes, clips of happy families celebrating their togetherness. Sometimes it’s difficult to remember that these brief glimpses we get into someone’s life aren’t real. They are a perfectly curated highlight real.

It’s difficult to scroll Instagram and not compare the wonderful images to our own lives. Taking a break and trying not to compare your real life with someone else’s highlights will do wonders for your mental wellness.

Chat with Friends

Every other Tuesday, I have a standing Face time call with my best friend. She lives on the other side of the country, and both our trips to see each other this year were canceled due to COVID. But, that’s not a reason for us to drift apart!

Our calls work wonders to help us stay connected and stay social in these trying times of social distancing. Every call lifts me up and makes me feel rejuvenated. Good friends will do that.

Even if you can’t get together with your friends, stay in touch with them. Have video calls, phone calls, and text regularly. Staying connected with old friends is a great way to help you feel good about your life.

Declutter

It’s hard to relax when there is stuff everyone. Take it from me, the queen of clutter! My desk is regularly a mess of books, pens, journals, and post-it notes.

Usually, I work through the clutter. But it’s hard to describe how much cleaning up the mess and decluttering my work space enhances my creativity and productivity. It’s like my desk is a metaphor for my mind, and when it’s clean and organized, my brain is too.

Realizing how much a decluttered work space improved my life motivated me to keep it decluttered. My books and notes now all have their own place, and my clutter free desk makes focusing on my important tasks a whole lot easier.

Read

There’s something magical about turning away from all the hustle and distractions of everyday life and getting lost in a good book. It can take you away from your real life, if only for an hour or two – but sometimes that’s enough to give us a refreshing outlook.

I used to lurk on Reddit for a half hour or so after every shower, but instead, I decided to use that time to catch up on my reading. It’s astonishing how much better I feel after reading a chapter than after being on Reddit. I feel a sense of accomplishment for getting through my list, but I’m also less stressed because I opted out of the online world, if just for a few minutes.

Cut Out Toxic People

Speaking of haters, some of them might be people that are close to us. We all have a toxic friend or family member that never has anything nice to say about our hopes, dreams, passions and achievements.

Some may say that family is the most important thing, but I disagree. If a family member or a friend can’t be civil to you, if they can’t be happy for you, you don’t actually have to engage with them. We have made family out to be so important that we accept all kinds of abuse from folks because they are family. Maybe if we learned to set boundaries with toxic people and stop excusing their behavior, they would learn to be less toxic.

And even if they don’t, you don’t have to deal with their toxic behavior. I can’t tell you how freeing it is to get out of a toxic situation. The sun shines brighter, the sky is bluer, the flowers are more fragrant. Your life will drastically improve when you stop trying to appease toxic people.

Embrace the Word “No”

How much of your life have you wasted doing things you don’t like to do? If you’re like most people, you’ve probably said yes to a ton of things that you don’t actually want to do, either because you felt bad or were peer pressured into it.

A great way to improve your life is to learn to say no. Saying no to a night on the town when drinks aren’t in your budget isn’t going to destroy a friendship. Politely declining a request isn’t going to destroy a relationship (and if it does – the person who is trying to guilt you is probably toxic, and we already talked about removing toxic people from your life).

Don’t take this too far though. There are certain relationships that require sacrifice and doing things we don’t necessarily want to do. Go for that walk through the orchard with your partner. Play that game with your child. But learn to say no to the things that don’t really matter.

 Start a Side Hustle

Starting a side hustle isn’t normally on lists about improving your life, but I think that’s a mistake. Starting and working on a side hustle can improve your life in many ways!

First, there’s the financial aspect. If you’re struggling because you don’t have a lot of money, a side hustle can help by increasing your income. But it’s more than that. Starting a side hustle can open you up to an entire world that you never knew existed. It can give you the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.

I’ve made tons of new friends through my two side hustles, and have learned so much about networking, web design, writing, SEO, graphic design and more through my side hustles. Even if I never make a huge amount of money from them the personal development has been more than worthwhile.

If you’re ready to start a side hustle, check out the course Launch Your Side Hustle. It has everything you need to know about picking your hustle, getting started, and even paying taxes!

Look over your day the night before.

how to stop being lazy, non coffee energy boosters

You should always line up your day the night before, says Gayle Carson, acclaimed life coach and speaker from Albany, New York.

"It allows you to walk through your day, so if you walk into the office and someone asks ‘Do you have a minute?' you will know if you do or don't." Bonus: If you make a to-do list at the same time, you'll find that this productivity hack actually helps improve your sleep as well.

Reach out to people you haven't been in touch with recently.

mother receiving phone call, etiquette mistakes

There's no doubt that maintaining your relationship with close friends and family is important. However, a landmark 1973 study published in the American Journal of Sociology showed that "weak ties," or people who are more acquaintance-level connections, are the ones who can actually help you out the most in terms of developing new contacts, improving career prospects, and generally meeting new people. Each week, set a goal to get in touch with one person you haven't talked to in a while, and you'll find your personal and professional networks growing faster than ever before. And for more ways to connect with old friends.

Do your most creative work in the morning.

guy at work in the morning energized

While it may be hard to get out of bed early and put your pen to the paper as soon as possible, morning is actually the best time to get your creative juices flowing.

"During morning hours, cortisol acts as your energy hormone and your focus and concentration are better than any other time of day," says Debra Atkinson, a productivity, fitness, and wellness coach with Flipping Fifty. So, use biology to your advantage and leave more mundane tasks for later in the day. And if you're not a morning person but would like to be, check out these 20 Better Sleep Essentials That'll Have You Waking Up Well-Rested Every Morning.

Stop Sacrificing What You Want Most For What You Want Right Now

It would be lovely to relax, watch a movie or a show, meet a friend for dinner, etc. instead of working longer on a project that needs attention, going to the gym, making dinner at home, etc. Instant gratification is seductive and satisfying, but not when it is at the expense of long term goals, especially goals that will help build your self-esteem and help make progress towards your goals. Stop sacrificing substantive happiness, that will bring you consistent and lasting joy for superficial, momentary happiness, which will fade quickly and ultimately extend unhappiness.

Stop Making Excuses

If you are looking for a reason/excuse not to do the right thing, you will surely find one. Part of taking ownership of your life and reflecting on how you got to an unhappy state is understanding how you are enabling your poor decisions. It is usually with excuses, like you're tired, or you don't have time when you're not making time, you will do it tomorrow, etc. Stop making excuses, and start owning your life and pushing yourself to do the work. Happiness doesn't fall into your lap, it takes work like everything else. So get out of your own way and stop making excuses.

What is Li-Fi technology?

Li-Fi(Light fidelity) Technology

Li-Fi is called internet at the speed of light. LiFi technology will allow us to connect to the internet using light from lamps, streetlights or LED televisions. In addition to being cheaper, safer and faster than wifi, it does not need a router. All you need to do is point your mobile or tablet towards a light bulb to surf the web.

WHAT IS Li-Fi TECHNOLOGY?

LiFi (light fidelity) is a bidirectional wireless system that transmits data via LED or infrared light. It was first unveiled in 2011 and, unlike wifi, which uses radio frequency, LiFi technology only needs a light source with a chip to transmit an internet signal through light waves.

This is an extraordinary advance over today's wireless networks. LiFi multiplies the speed and bandwidth of wifi, 3G and 4G. The latter have a limited capacity and become saturated when the number of users surfing increases, causing them to crash, reducing speeds and even interrupting the connection.

With LiFi, however, its band frequency of 200,000 GHz, versus the maximum 5 GHz of the wifi, is 100 times faster and can transmit much more information per second. A 2017 study by the University of Eindhoven obtained a download rate of 42.8 Gbit/s with infrared light with a radius of 2.5 metres, when the best wifi would barely reach 300 Mbit/s.

HOW Li-Fi TECHNOLOGY WORKS?

Radio frequency communication requires radio circuits, antennas and complex receivers, whereas LiFi is much simpler and uses direct modulation methods similar to those used in low-cost infrared communications devices such as remote control units. LED light bulbs have high intensities and therefore can achieve very large data rates.

LiFi is high speed, bidirectional, and fully networked wireless communication of data using light. LiFi constitute of several lightbulbs that form a wireless network.

When an electrical current is applied to a LED light bulb a stream of light (photons) is emitted from the bulb. LED bulbs are semiconductor devices, which means that the brightness of the light flowing through them can be changed at extremely high speeds. This means that the signal can be sent by modulating the light at different rates. The signal can then be received by a detector which interprets the changes in light intensity (the signal) as data.  Also when the LED is ON, you transmit a digital 1 and when it is OFF you transmit a 0.

LIFI VS. WIFI: WHICH IS BETTER?

LiFi technology is faster, cheaper and even more secure than wifi. Its main advantages include:

Faster: the current speed of wifi oscillates between 11 and 300 Mbit/s, while that of LiFi is also highly variable according to the last studies carried out. The most widely accepted speed is 10 Gbit/s, but it has been proven that it could reach 224 Gbit/s and that a 1.5 Gbit film could be downloaded in thousandths of a second.

Cheaper and more sustainable: it is up to 10 times cheaper than wifi, requires fewer components and uses less energy. All you have to do is turn on a light!

More accessible: any light fitting can easily be converted into an internet connection point, as only a simple LiFi emitter needs to be fitted.

More secure: light does not pass through walls like radio waves do, and this prevents intruders from intercepting LiFi communications through a wireless network.

More bandwidth: the light spectrum is 10,000 times wider than the radio spectrum, which increases the volume of data it can carry and transmit per second.

More reliable: LiFi transmits its signal without interruptions, making communication more stable than with wifi.

No interference: electronic light does not interfere with radio communications, interact with other systems or compromise transmissions from aircraft, ships, etc.

Wireless and invisible: LiFi takes advantage of lights and dispenses with the router, so it works without the need for cables. In addition, it can operate with infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye, or with visible LED light at very low intensity so as to avoid disturbance.

No saturation: internet connection via light could prevent the collapse of the radio spectrum which, according to LiFi's inventor Harald Haas, could take place by 2025.

With the emergence and development of LiFi technology, many foreshadow the obsolescence of wifi and other wireless networks. We will have to wait a few more years to see if streetlights, in addition to illuminating our streets, will connect us to the internet at the speed of light.

VISION FOR THE TECHNOLOGY

As the world evolves into the era of the internet of things & 5G/6G, the requirement for wireless networks that can meet the never-ending need of data communication is of paramount importance. Our band of geeks here at Velmenni believes that a lot of value can be created by assisting in the continued innovation and research in & around the world of LiFi. We aim to evolve LiFi through impactful resources and to build futuristic applications of it in various domains.

What is Hawking Radiation?

What is Hawking Radiation?

To put it simply: It’s the radiation emitted from a Black Hole and it was, as the name suggests, discovered by Stephen Hawking.

History is not everything but its a start! -John Henrick Clarke

So, let’s see what history has in store for us…

It all started in 1972 when Jacob Beckenstein theorized that Black Holes should have Entropy. So, maybe you’re asking yourself… What is Entropy?

Entropy is a part of thermodynamics and it basically states that Everything must release heat. Unless it is at 0 degree kelvin( -273 degrees celsius). Now this includes a Black Hole. But as we’ve known that black holes have always appeared to absorb things! It never releases things… Even the light coming out undergoes a high degree of redshift due to which the frequency falls below the visible spectrum!

But Jacob thought that there should be some heat still leaving it according to Thermodynamics! This led Stephen Hawking, in 1973, to go to Moscow to meet 2 Soviet Scientists (Sorry I don’t remember their names :P ). They showed Stephen Hawking that Black Holes should be emitting particles according to the Uncertainty Principle (I’ll write about that in future). This led Stephen Hawking in 1974 to publish his paper on Hawking Radiation! Also known as Black Hole Evaporation!

So, that’s it! Enough of history! Now let’s dig into the Physics of it all…

Lets start off with Quantum Physics! It is a field that is often regarded to be a sort of difficult field a.k.a the field that doesn’t make any sense!

“If you think you understand Quantum Mechanics, you don’t understand Quantum Mechanics!” - Richard Feynman

Quantum Mechanics is the physics of everything that is really very very small… Like electrons, atoms, photons etc.

On the other hand General Relativity is for everything BIG! Like Black Holes, stars, planets etc.

Quantum Mechanics appears to be very real…

Stephen Hawking was trying to find a way to demonstrate a Black Hole in the Quantum World!

So, basically, he wasn’t looking at the BIG planets that are being sucked in by the Black Hole….

…. He was rather looking at the tiny little particles and how they interact with the Black Hole. Since General Relativity couldn’t explain why radiation should be coming out of a Black Hole, maybe Quantum Physics could! And most importantly, HE WAS RIGHT!

Stephen Hawking was looking at the specific quantum event called Virtual Particles. Bear with me as I try to explain…

Let’s start off with some basic math…

Let’s think about 0 (zero). 0 is basically nothing, right? And, there are many ways to make 0…

0=0

Let’s play around…

0=1–1 => This is still true and legit!

What you just read is basically what is happening with our Virtual Particles! In our example, 0 was empty. Now, emptiness, when you think about it is something void of everything! I mean there’e nothing in it… But just like 0 also, in space, there are these things called Virtual Particles. These are basically particles of Matter and Anti-Matter!

They’re constantly being created and destroyed immediately! If this doesn’t baffle your mind, then you are devoid of emotions!

A particle of matter appears… and a particle of anti-matter appears. The moment they appear, they also collide and send matter as 1 and anti-matter as -1. They simply annihilate themselves! Just like in our little example… 0=1–1.

Now the reason this can work and doesn’t violate Law of Conservation of Mass, is because anti-matter is the opposite of matter. So, with both of them being created, there is an equal amount of matter and anti-matter, which implied they are literally creating nothing!

For those who are wondering about antimatter…

Anti-Matter is just matter. Only, it is completely opposite! Like, the antimatter equivalent of an electron is a positron! Yeah, it’s positive.

So, what happens when antimatter hits a piece of matter? They annihilate themselves!

Now that we know about Virtual Particles, let’s think about Black Holes!

It’s just a massive cosmic entity that absorbs anything that comes close enough to it!

When scientists directly observe the center of a black hole, they see nothing! This is due to the high degree of redshifting of light. Now, Black Holes, as defined by general relativity, will just keep absorbing and absorbing and just get bigger and bigger!

But that picture changes with Hawking Radiation! Now I strongly recommend you to read this post on the Event Horizon before trying to understand what Hawking Radiation actually is!

The Event Horizon Revamped!

It is the boundary marking the limits of a black hole. With that out of the way, here’s the big question…

How are these so called “Hawking Radiations” able to escape something that even light cannot?

All the physics I just explained is now gonna come together !!!

So what happens is right at the Event Horizon, a virtual particle pair appears. And because of the massive force of the black hole, one of the particles gets sucked into….

….and the other one manages to escape!

So from an outsider’s point of view, one would see particles being radiated out of the black hole! In fact, they are not actually coming out of the Event Horizon, they are actually being created right at the side of the Event Horizon…. and they are seemingly shooting out!

The more these virtual particles pairs, the smaller it will get! Which is why it is also called Black Hole Evaporation. So if a black hole is big enough, it is obviously absorbing a whole lot of things. These radiating particles will be very minor when compared to the massive amount of things it is absorbing. But if it’s a smaller black hole, then that means that it will actually be radiating more than it is absorbing! Which in turn implies that over time, the black hole will get smaller and smaller until eventually it just disappears!

Phew….

That means the black hole, contrary to what general relativity says, if it is small enough to start with, will get smaller and smaller and smaller….

….Until it is gone completely!

And THAT, my friend, is HAWKING RADIATION!!!

Well, here’s one thing that must be bothering you…

Why is it that only the Anti-Matter gets sucked into the Black Hole?

The answer to this is that Virtual particle pairs don’t quiet appear out of nothing! Don’t forget that this is Quantum Mechanics! So things are bound to get weird o.0

When Matter and Anti-Matter collide and annihilate themselves, they release ENERGY! Because even though they are opposites, they’re both still made out of energy. So, the thing is, where does that energy come from? It actually is empty space but that energy that is used to create this particle of matter and this particle of anti-matter, is actually energy taken from the black hole’s potential gravitational energy! So does this crazy fact fit into the puzzle called Hawking Radiation?

It doesn’t matter if it is the anti-matter that or the matter that escapes! Because the energy used to create that particle was energy from the black hole. Which essentially means that the Black Hole is losing energy and therefore losing MASS!
